Her coaching philosophy centers on the well-being of her athletes, both on and off the field, ensuring they excel not only in softball but in life.

Marissa's impressive softball career began during her time as a standout player for the NJCU Gothic Knights softball team, where she left an indelible mark. She was a four-year starter and earned multiple accolades, including NJAC 1st Team All-Conference and ECAC 1st Team All-Conference honors in 2011. As a senior, she led the NJAC with a .733 slugging percentage, earning 2nd Team All-Conference honors and being recognized as NJAC Player of the Week. In April of 2014, Marissa was named a Top Performer by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).

A two-year team captain in 2013 and 2014, Marissa concluded her collegiate career ranking among the program's all-time greats. She stands at #2 in career home runs with 21, #3 in slugging percentage (.551), #3 in career RBIs (96), and tied for #4 in career doubles (38). Her legacy as a powerful and disciplined player is a testament to her commitment and work ethic—qualities she instills in her athletes today.

Off the field, Marissa serves as a special education teacher in Little Falls, where she continues to make a positive impact in the lives of young people. Her passion for teaching and coaching drives her to help her athletes become the best versions of themselves, focusing not just on their skills, but their overall character and growth.
